NJ Lawmaker Envisions "Rating" System For Retail Suppliers, Expects Shopping Bill to Pass

March 03,2015

New Jersey Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo envisions a mechanism where customers can rate how satisfied they are with a third-party energy supplier, New Jersey 101.5 reports.

“My real goal is to see if I can move this forward and get it to where we see how many people are happy with the energy supplier they switch to. Almost like a rating – how many people have moved in and out of this one provider. That would be useful to others.” DeAngelo said, according to New Jersey 101.5.

DeAngelo was discussing a trio of bills before the New Jersey legislature, which, as previously reported by RetailEnergyX.com (click here), address contract and marketing requirements, including the elimination of enrollment via TPV, creation of a state-run supplier rate board, and prompt switches to and from BGS.

See New Jersey 101.5 for more, including DeAngelo's thoughts on prospects for the legislation.
