Report: Chicago Municipal Aggregation Could "Zap" Homeowners

May 16,2014

Crain's takes a look at pricing under the City of Chicago's municipal electric aggregation program compared to the newly announced ComEd rates, and particularly how the use of a fixed monthly charge as part of the aggregation (ostensibly for capacity) affects the value proposition

Crain's concludes that, an "average household's electric bills will be about $18 higher this summer [under the aggregation] than they would be if they were ComEd customers."
