Long Island Lawmakers Decry "Poison Pill" Charge In LIPA Tariff For Opt-out Municipal Aggregation

Long Island, New York lawmakers, as well as towns which are seeking to adopt opt-out electricity aggregations, are decrying what they term a "poison pill" in the recently modified LIPA tariff authorizing opt-out municipal aggregation, Smithtown Matters reports
The adjustment in the tariff, described as a pass-through of the purchase of on-Island capacity for which no market exists, is to ensure all customers pay a "proportionate cost", LIPA told WSHU
