Michigan Vice-Chair: "Votes Aren’t There To Kill The Choice Market", But...

July 21,2015

Michigan State Rep. Gary Glenn, vice-chair of the House Energy Policy Committee, told the Midland Daily News that, "The votes aren’t there to kill the [electric] choice market."

However, supporters of lifting the choice cap entirely also don't have the votes to pass legislation

Glenn told the Midland Daily News that he plans to introduce a package of bills in the fall that would allow schools to participate in electric choice, with the schools' load not counting towards the 10% cap, thereby allowing more non-school customers to be served under the cap.
