Ohio Supreme Court To Consider Certified Questions Related To Petition To Overturn Nuclear Subsidy

December 26,2019

The Ohio Supreme Court announced that it will consider the issue of whether proponents of a proposed ballot initiative to repeal HB 6, the nuclear subsidy law, should be given more time to gather signatures for the petition

Proponents of the petition did not collect enough signatures under the state's timeline for ballot initiatives, but, as previously reported, such proponents filed a lawsuit in federal court arguing that various state provisions governing the initiative qualification process violate federal constitutional rights

As previously reported, a federal court certified several questions to the Ohio Supreme Court as they deal with the state's constitution
