FL Group Spends $800K On Petition Gatherers In Scheme Alleged To Create Barriers To Electric Choice

August 19,2019

The Miami Herald reports further on the Florida group Keep Our Constitution Clean, which the Herald reports, "has spent more than $800,000 on paid petition gatherers in the last four months."

The Herald reports that organizers of various other initiatives seeking qualification for the 2020 ballot -- such as the electric choice initiative -- allege that Keep Our Constitution Clean is paying signature gatherers to make it harder for other groups to find canvassers, and allege that Keep Our Constitution Clean is linked to the utility industry

A spokesperson for Keep Our Constitution Clean said that the group's funders are not the utilities
