Report: Dynegy Pushing for Ameren to Join PJM

September 09,2014

Crain's Chicago Business reports that Dynegy is pushing for Ameren to join PJM, which Crain's says would, "boost downstate electric bills," from higher capacity prices.

Crain's says that the reason for the sought switch to PJM is, "It's far more lucrative for power generators to be in PJM than MISO."

Crain's reports Dynegy as asserting that prices in MISO are insufficient to maintain operation of the plant, and reports that Dynegy may push for the switch to PJM as part of legislation which is expected to provide non-market support for Exelon's nuclear units.
