Dynegy Rolling Out New Name for Retail Business

August 04,2014

Dynegy appears to be rolling out a new name for its retail energy business, and is now promoting the business as Dynegy Energy Services.

Since acquiring the retail business from Ameren last year, Dynegy has used the acquired brand Homefield Energy for the business.

Dynegy Energy Services, LLC was separately certificated by the Illinois Commerce Commission as an ARES earlier this year, but at that time it was not clear if this was simply for corporate purposes, or whether the name was to be a customer-facing brand.

Now, Dynegy Energy Services has launched a website: dynegyenergyservices.com

The new brand does not yet appear on the PlugIn Illinois or CUB price charts (where Homefield Energy still appears), indicating Dynegy may still be in the process of officially rolling out the new brand.

Dynegy Energy Services' website lists residential offers available in the ComEd service area only (aside from aggregation, Homefield Energy offers individual residential service at both ComEd [per CUB] and Ameren).
