February 04,2020
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio on January 29 issued an order assessing a civil forfeiture of $1,000 against every company which has failed to remit their PUC fiscal assessment based on the 2018 annual report, as listed in an attachment to the order
The listed companies subject to the forfeiture includes multiple retail suppliers and brokers
The PUCO further ordered that such companies pay their outstanding assessment by February 28, 2020
"Those regulated entities that do not remit their annual assessment by
February 28, 2020, will be in noncompliance of a Commission directive and could be
assessed an additional forfeiture pursuant to R.C. 4905.54. Failure to remit the assessment
could also lead the Commission to take steps to rescind the entities’ certificates and order
them to cease providing regulated service in the state of Ohio under the listed certificate," PUCO said
