FirstEnergy Solutions Sues To Block Ballot Referendum Seeking To Overturn Nuclear Subsidies

FirstEnergy Solutions has filed a lawsuit with Ohio's Supreme Court seeking to block a proposed voter referendum on HB 6, the nuclear subsidy bill.
FES argues, under previously reported legal reasoning, that the charges to customers under HB 6 amount to a tax, and the Ohio Constitution forbids voter referendums on taxes passed by the General Assembly
