Crain's: A Chicago Power Giant (Exelon) Has Its #MeToo Moment

August 26,2019

Crain's Chicago Business reports on allegations that a senior Exelon government affairs leader, responsible for Illinois, "violated the code of business conduct, in that you failed to ensure a respectful workplace."

Crain's notes the allegations surface, "against a backdrop of sexual and workplace harassment in the state capital," and may impact legislative appetite for Exelon-backed policies in the upcoming veto session (with such policies potentially impacting the retail market.

Lawmakers' willingness to carry water for Exelon in the upcoming session was already being tested after reports last month that Exelon and ComEd had received a grand jury subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Illinois requiring production of information concerning its lobbying activities in the state of Illinois
