Amended Nevada Bill Would Exempt Current Competitive Customers From New Fees For Exiting Customers

An amended version of Nevada bill SB547 (see background here) was voted out of committee in a "behind the bar" meeting, The Nevada Independent reports, and the amended version exempts customers who have already left the utility, or have already applied to leave, from significant new provisions under the bill -- including the new requirement that customers leaving utility supply must still pay various fees associated with public policy goals, including fees associated with energy efficiency, low-income energy assistance, and net metering
