DALLAS -- Tracking and controlling electricity usage and costs is about to get even easier for TXU Energy customers after the company signed a deal to marry its TXU Energy MyEnergy Dashboard with cloud-based services and advanced analytics from Bidgely, an industry leader in customer engagement and utility intelligence. The enhanced dashboard will roll out to TXU Energy's roughly 1.5 million residential customers in 2015, reflecting the company's commitment to delivering innovative solutions.

"We continue to exceed customers' expectations by delivering the information and tools they need to manage their electricity use each month," said Scott Hudson, chief operating officer for TXU Energy. "This partnership with Bidgely will take the resources we provide to the next level of value and service for our customers."

The partnership brings to TXU Energy customers Bidgely's patent-pending technology that reads energy signatures of home and business appliances without the use of expensive, plug-in energy sensors. Bidgely's technology will help deliver an even better experience with the TXU Energy MyEnergy Dashboard, particularly through mobile devices.

"Ranked between the United Kingdom and Italy in terms of annual power usage, Texas is a useful case study for changes in how consumers buy and manage their electricity," said Pavel Molchanov, a senior vice president and equity research analyst at Raymond James & Associates. "And with intense competition to serve the state's 6.7 million retail electric consumers – nearly all of whom have smart meters – retail electric providers are looking to enhance their customer relationships by providing analytics that consumers can use to understand and control their power usage."

TXU Energy customers have benefited from the free TXU Energy MyEnergy Dashboard since 2011, allowing them to see their plan benefits; project, pay and compare their monthly bills; and get estimates of how much electricity various appliances and other electronics in their homes and businesses are using. It also allows customers to compare their household electricity use to the use of others in their ZIP codes. Bidgely will help enhance all of those features.

Bidgely's algorithms give customers even more insight into how individual appliances and systems in their home and business are using electricity, giving customers unique, personalized and precise recommendations to help them make smart decisions that conserve electricity and save money. For example, Bidgely's technology can identify how much a customer spends on air-conditioning, as well as whether their use is efficient compared to similar homes.

"TXU Energy is an extremely innovative and forward thinking electricity provider, making it a great example of what electricity companies will become as they transition to next generation service providers," said Abhay Gupta, Bidgely's CEO and founder. "Our personalized energy engagement is the cornerstone for electricity companies that are adapting to engage with modern consumers – ones that expect as much from their electricity providers as they do from their Internet and phone service companies. We're extremely excited to be at the forefront of this transition with TXU Energy."
