Claim: PUC Wants to Turn Up the Heat for Pennsylvania’s Competitive Gas Marketplace

June 25,2014

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently spoke with officials from the American Coalition of Competitive Energy Suppliers concerning the state's retail natural gas market, particularly its relatively lagging pace compared to electricity, and ostensibly renewed efforts to jumpstart the market.

The PUC "launched" a retail natural gas market investigation last September, which is essentially the third time since 2005 it has tried to jumpstart the retail gas market in the face of long-known barriers to workable competition.

Since public comments received in December 2013, there has been no public filings in the PUC's new investigation
