Report Recommends Retiring Certain Austin Energy Generating Units

According to a commentary published in the Austin American-Statesman, a report from a working group on affordability at Austin Energy has recommended:
• Closing the natural gas steam units at the Decker Power Plant by the fall of 2021.
• Beginning retirement of Austin’s 600 megawatt share of the coal-burning Fayette Power Plant by the end of 2022.
