Sharyland Issuing Corrected Invoices Due to PUC Final Order Revising 4-CP Demand Calculation

April 06,2017

Sharyland Utilities issued a market notice that, based on the March 30, 2017 final order issued in PUCT Docket 46604 to amend the July 2016 4CP determination, Sharyland has revised the annual 4-CP Demand values used as billing determinants for customers that are charged Retail Delivery Service charges based on 4CP kW.

In such PUC order, the PUC granted a good cause exception to 16 TAC ยง 25.192(d) to amend the July 2016 4CP determination to reflect an unscheduled outage on a direct current tie. Absent this change, stakeholders had said that a "false" peak had been created as under the calculation set forth in the protocols, 581 MW of lost import capacity would be counted twice in the calculation of demand

"We are currently in the process of issuing corrected invoices for all service periods back to January 2017 for ESI IDs where the annual 4-CP Demand values changed as a result of the amended July 2016 4CP determination," Sharyland said in the market notice

This impacts both Sharyland and Sharyland-McAllen ESI IDs.
