Texas Electric Cooperatives To Install Energy Storage System At Master Distribution Center

January 25,2017

Texas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (TEC), an association representing various electricity cooperatives in Texas and other states, said that it will install an energy storage system at its 160,000 square foot Master Distribution Center

Advanced Microgrid Solutions (AMS) will design, install and operate a 200 kWh energy storage system at TEC's Georgetown Master Distribution Center, which supports electrical cooperatives across Texas and serves as TEC's classroom training facility.

Apart from reducing the center's peak demand and providing grid support, the installation will also serve to provide storage education and training Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) members

TEC also announced an affinity agreement with AMS to offer AMS services to TEC members.

TEC's 75 member agencies serve 2 million homes and businesses in rural and suburban areas of Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
