NY Electric Utilities Hedging With Fixed Prices 70% of Winter Default Service Supplies

New York electric utilities are, on average, hedging 70% of winter residential default service supplies under fixed price agreements, New York PSC Staff said during a winter forecast update at yesterday's meeting.

As a result of the polar vortex and other lessons learned, Staff said that electric utilities increased the fixed price hedge level for their residential supply customers during the winter months to 70%, from 55%, on a statewide average basis
