Texas ROSE Makes Recommendations on Power To Choose Site, Other Protections

October 10,2016

In comments on the draft Texas PUC electric scope of competition report, Texas ROSE (Ratepayers' Organization to Save Energy) and Texas Legal Services Center reiterated recommendations for new consumer protections in the electric market.

Texas ROSE and TLSC reiterated previously proposed changes in the Power to Choose website, including elimination of plans with minimum usage fees

The consumer advocates also proposed that funds collected as fines and penalties against retail electric companies be directed to a special fund to provide low income weatherization or bill payment assistance to low income customers with medical issues.
