Customers At Texas Muni Launch Petition to Implement Retail Choice

Over 550 residents of Cuero, Texas have signed a petition for the City Of Cuero to implement retail electric choice at its municipal utility within ERCOT, the Victoria Advocate reports

Cuero's utility currently charges in excess of 9.5ยข/kWh, the Victoria Advocate reports, and the petition for retail choice was prompted by a recent rate increase

Cuero, in DeWitt County, has a population of about 7,000
