AEP Texas Will Seek To Implement New Charge on Retail Providers In Distribution Cost Recovery Factor

March 31,2016

AEP Texas Central and AEP Texas North have requested the assignment of docket numbers from the Public Utility Commission of Texas for what the TDUs said "will" be the future filing of applications for approval of a distribution cost recovery factor

The Distribution Cost Recovery Factor would be a rider charged to REPs used to recover certain new costs related to distribution investments outside of a base rate case. To date, the only ERCOT utility which has implemented a DCRF is CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric

DCRF filings are governed by Subst. R. 25.243, which provides that any DCRF shall be set on a system-wide basis with an effective date of September 1, unless good cause exists for a later date

AEP TCC's request was assigned Docket 45787 and AEP TNC's request was assigned Docket 45788
