As part of a series of management changes, AEP named Bruce Evans as president and chief operating officer of AEP Texas, a transmission and distribution utility serving nearly one million customers in south and west Texas.

Evans is currently vice president - Distribution Operations for AEP Texas. Evans has held various positions with Texas electric companies, including as VP of Customer Relations at Cirro Energy and Vice President of Energy Services at AEP [AEP's competitive unit] in the early days of Texas deregulation

Evans replaces A. Wade Smith, who was named senior vice president - Transmission Grid Development at AEP
