AEP Ohio Default Service Rates To Decrease On June 1

AEP Ohio has filed an annual update to the Generation Energy (GENE) and Generation Capacity Riders (GENC), which are part of the bypassable Standard Service Offer, and make up the largest components of the price to compare

Generally, for residential customers, the new combined rates for GENE and GENC are over 0.5 cents per kWh below the current combined GENE and GENC total

Other bypassable components are included in the total SSO rate, such as reconciliation and Rider AER
