New Jersey Energy Master Plan Calls For "Exploring" 100% Clean Energy Requirement By 2050

January 28,2020

New Jersey has released a final energy master plan

The plan does not include any specific recommendations with respect to basic generation service (BGS) or the retail electric supply market specifically

The plan does broadly call for meeting the 50% Renewable Portfolio Standard by 2030 and "exploring" possible regulatory structures to enable New Jersey to transition to 100% clean energy by 2050

The plan also calls for development of 7,500 MW of offshore wind energy generation by 2035
