Houston Chronicle Examines Electricity Shopping Sites Copying Texas Power To Choose Site Branding

December 26,2019

In the Houston Chronicle, L.M. Sixel examines electricity shopping sites and brokers using copycat Power to Choose branding

RetailEnergyX.com previously noted sites using Power to Choose branding or SEO in 2015, when legislation was proposed to prohibit such usage (see story here)

Sixel reports in June that the Texas PUC sent a letter to broker Compare Power, which had been using domain power2choose.com, demanding that the company cease using the phrase Power 2 Choose

Sixel reports that CenterPoint Energy's shopping site has said that it will no longer use Power 2 Choose in search engine results going forward
