Conservative Texans For Energy Innovation Supports ERCOT Energy-Only Market, Opposes Changes

October 24,2019

The newly formed group (story here) Conservative Texans for Energy Innovation had an op-ed published in the Houston Chronicle in which Matt Welch, state director of the group, said that ERCOT's energy-only market is working, and that the state should resist changes to the ERCOT market

"The Monday-morning quarterbacks throwing shade on the system have no real alternative to suggest. All they can offer is more government regulations by bureaucrats telling companies how to operate their business or a system that forces customers to pay for power plants they may never need or use. They advocate returning to a lumbering, less efficient, and more clunky dinosaur of a system," Welch wrote
