New Group, Conservative Texans for Energy Innovation, Formed, Releases Poll
March 07,2019
A new group, Conservative Texans for Energy Innovation (CTEI), has been formed and released a poll concerning Texans' views on policies that encourage responsible clean energy solutions
CTEI describes itself as, "a non-profit clean energy education and advocacy organization launched to promote energy innovation and clean energy policies grounded in the conservative principle of common sense, market-based solutions that allow fair competition and provide greater access to clean, affordable and reliable energy."
CTEI, at this time, does not list any specific policies it supports or opposes on its website or in a news release
However, one of the poll questions asked respondents whether they viewed as important the following: "Policies that enable more homeowners and business owners to invest in their own renewable energy by compensating them for the extra energy they produce on their own property, which is then used by other customers."
A summary of the poll results said that, "an overwhelming majority of respondents support the adoption of policies that enable more homeowners and business owners to invest in their own renewable energy by compensating them for the extra energy they produce on their own property, which is then used by other customers."
Some 51% of respondents said such policies were very important, with 87% saying such policies were important
The poll also asked respondents whether they viewed as important the following: "Permit third-party sales of electricity from outside the monopoly utility so that customers can have more choice."
Some 56% of respondents said such a policy was very important, with 85% saying such policies were important
The organization is being led by Matt Welch and Kevin Brannon, described as, "longtime Republican veterans who have a combined 50-plus years as consultants in the Texas political and public affairs arena."
