Direct Energy Files For Approval Of Supplier Consolidated Billing Format
September 19,2019
Direct Energy has filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio a request for approval of its supplier consolidated
bill format
Direct is a participant in the previously reported Supplier Consolidated Billing Pilot program (SCB
Pilot) approved in AEP Ohio’s most recent Electric Security Plan proceeding, Case No. 16-1852-
EL-SSO.
The bill format will be used solely for the purposes of the SCB Pilot and will be
applied only to Direct customers in the AEP Ohio service territory participating in the SCB Pilot,
until or unless the SCB Pilot is extended or adopted permanently
Notable is that under "Notes from AEP Ohio", a sample of Direct's supplier consolidated bill includes the following Price to Compare language, using the language used on AEP Ohio's utility consolidated bills:
Price-to-Compare: For tariff 013, in order for you to save
money off of your utility's supply charges, a supplier must
offer you a price lower than AEP Ohio's price of $0.059
per kWh for the same usage that appears on this bill. To
