Texas PUC Names New Chief Program Officer, Will Oversee Competitive Markets, Customer Protection

The Public Utility Commission of Texas today announced that agency veteran Connie Corona has been promoted to Chief Program Officer. Starting June 1st, the former director of the PUC’s Competitive Markets division will oversee the efforts of her former division as well as Customer Protection, Infrastructure & Reliability, Legal, Oversight & Enforcement, Rate Regulation, and Water Utility Regulation.

Corona first joined the Public Utility Commission in 1997 as a policy analyst, rising to the role of Director of Electric Policy Analysis before joining NRG’s regulatory affairs department in 2003.

She returned to the PUC in 2017 as Director of Competitive Markets where she has led the team providing sensible oversight of the state’s unique electricity grid.
