Texas Senate Concurs On Removing REPs From Being Subject To PUC "Monitoring" Of Cybersecurity

The Texas Senate has concurred with House amendments to SB 64 which remove retail electric providers as entities that would be subject to the monitoring of cybersecurity practices by the Texas Public Utility Commission established under the bill

As previously reported, the Senate-passed bill had included REPs as being subject to PUC cybersecurity monitoring, but the House amendments removed REPs from the bill, and the Senate has concurred with such amendments

The bill has been enrolled and sent to the Governor
