Akamai Technologies To Power Dallas Data Center With Wind Energy

May 07,2019

Akamai Technologies, Inc. announced that the Seymour Hills Wind Farm, in which the company has invested under a 20-year agreement, is mechanically completed and expected to become commercially operational in the coming weeks.

Akamai’s aggregate Texas area data center operations will soon be powered by eight megawatts of renewable energy -- or up to 192 MWh of power per day -- generated by the Seymour Hills Wind Farm in northwestern Texas. This represents approximately seven percent of the company’s global power load.

Seymour Hills is a 30-MW project owned by ENGIE
