Muni Austin Energy Ponders How To Best Address Above-Market Contract As Plant Goes Up For Sale

The Austin American-Statesman reports that a biomass plant which currently has an above-market contract to supply power to Austin Energy is up for sale, and the Statesman ponders whether purchasing the plant would be the best outcome for the municipal utility currently saddled with the plant's above-market costs

The Statesman says Austin Energy has lost an estimated $54 million annually under the contract
