Pa. Senator Introduces Another Nuclear Subsidy Bill

April 05,2019

Pennsylvania State Senator Ryan P. Aument (R-36) announced the introduction of a second bill (Senate Bill 510) to provide subsidies to the state's nuclear generation plants

Text of the introduced version of the bill was not immediately available.

A release from Aument's office stated that the bill would create a third tier of the AEPS (RPS) program for nuclear plants, but it was not clear if retail suppliers would be responsible for complying with the new tier (as they must do for the current AEPS tiers, except under certain EDC default service plans), or if, as in a previously filed House bill (see story here), the nuclear procurement obligation would be placed solely on the EDCs
