CEO of Japan Energy Deregulation Start-Up Steps Down After Accounting Probe

December 22,2014

Reuters reports that the chief executive of Eneres Co., a start-up Japanese energy management company whose success was heralded as Japan liberalizes its electric market, "has resigned after an independent investigation flagged concerns over its accounting practices."

The story conjures ghosts of the U.S.'s restructuring past, which was permanently set back by the accounting practices of Enron.
