Texas PUC To Include Storage In Scope Of Competition Report

November 09,2018

During yesterday's open meeting, Texas PUC Commissioners agreed with a recommendation from Chairman DeAnn Walker to include issues related to electricity storage and other technologies in the scope of competition report.

Walker noted that the PUC has already discussed the issue in one application from a TDU, and is now considering it in a generic project, and said that, therefore, it would be appropriate to include in the report to lawmakers

Walker said that, at this time, she was not addressing any potential legislative recommendations concerning storage in the report, but asked that information about two cases addressing storage (the AEP Texas battery application, and the generic proceeding) be included
