LA Times: Communities Going into Retail Power Business to Cut Cost, Carbon Footprint

September 03,2014

The LA Times has published a story on several communities asserting control over energy planning and management, including through the use of opt-out municipal aggregation.

The piece includes a look at California CCAs, including those in Sonoma County and Marin County, as well as opt-out aggregation programs in Chicago and Cap Cod.

The Times notes that many Midwest municipal aggregations have recently returned customers to default service as they could no longer beat utility pricing.
