Diverse Groups Continue to Push for Wisconsin Electric Choice

July 15,2014

Stakeholders on different sides of the aisle continue to push for electric choice in Wisconsin.

As noted by the Compete Coalition, Milwaukee Alderman Robert Bauman, who does not appear to have a political affiliation in his role as Alderman but has been a citric of the Republican gubernatorial administration on numerous issues, "is pursuing legislation directing the city’s administration department and intergovernmental relations division to lobby Wisconsin lawmakers for a change in state law to allow retail customer choice in electricity."

Citing a report in the Milwaukee Daily Reporter, Compete notes that Bauman has backed off bringing the issue before the city council formally until the fall

Meanwhile, the Tea Party Tribune published an editorial criticizing Gov. Scott Walker for not pursuing an agenda favoring energy choice, particularly solar choice.
