Sale of Minority Stake in Retail Supplier Completed

With Duke Energy's acquisition of Piedmont Natural Gas being consummated, the sale of Piedmont's 15% stake in SouthStar Energy Services LLC to AGL Resources (Southstar's majority owner and itself now a subsidiary of Southern Company) has been completed.

Effective October 3, 2016, Georgia Natural Gas Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AGL Resources Inc., acquired Piedmont Energy Company's 15% interest in SouthStar. Georgia Natural Gas Company now owns 100% of SouthStar.
