Pa. PUC Names New Director of Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) announced the appointment of Richard A. Kanaskie as Director of the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement (I&E).

Currently serving as the Deputy Chief Prosecutor in the PUC’s Bureau of I&E, Kanaskie replaces Johnnie Simms, who retired recently.

Kanaskie began his career with the Commission in March 2001 as a Prosecutor in the former PUC’s Office of Trial Staff, later advancing to Senior Prosecutor. His responsibilities have included directing and overseeing prosecutions and investigations. Kanaskie also has significant experience in utilizing litigation, mediation, settlements and other problem solving solutions.
