GDF SUEZ Announces Capacity Management Services Now Available for NYISO Energy Users
May 18,2016
GDF SUEZ Energy Resources said that it is now offering New York commercial and industrial customers NYISO ICAP Management Services to help energy users proactively reduce consumption at intervals critical to lowering future capacity costs.
GDF SUEZ Energy Resources’ NYISO ICAP Management Services provides a weekly peak-day forecast, based on grid-wide electric load, weather data, historical data, and other key factors influencing the likelihood of a peak.
To help customers lower their consumption during peak hours, the service provides recommended load reduction start and end times, the forecasted peak load, and the day’s forecasted peak hour. Email notifications are also sent on days showing a high probability that a critical peak will occur to prompt the initiation of load management strategies.
In addition, users can view historical peaks throughout the month of the upcoming forecasted peaks, as well as daily updates of NYISO’s real-time and forecasted grid load.
GDF SUEZ Energy Resources noted that ICAP capacity charges can account for up to 30 percent of the total electric bill
