El Paso Customers To See Rate Hike

A settlement has been reached regarding a rate case at monopoly Texas utility El Paso Electric which will see residential bills increase by 9% on average, KVIA reports

Other rate classes will see an 8% increase, KVIA reports

The settlement includes a $37 million increase in base rates. With additional rate mechanisms, the settlement could bring El Paso close to 75% of its originally requested $71 million rate request, KVIA reports
