Oncor, AEP Texas Update Transition Dates For Transfer Of Oncor McAllen Customers To AEP Texas

November 19,2019

The Texas PUC last week adopted a stipulation approving the sale of Oncor's McAllen and Mission distribution service area (and associated assets) to AEP Texas

Oncor serves approximately 3,000 electric delivery customers in the McAllen/Mission area, which will now become customers of AEP Texas

See full details, including details on a customer rate credit, concerning the stipulation here

Oncor and AEP Texas have issued an updated transition date and schedule for various customers, which is available here

The PUC's final order modified a provision of the proposed order to state that, "A retail electric provider that uses an electricity-facts label for a retail product offered in the McAllen and Mission service area formerly served by Oncor that is identical to the electricity-facts label used for the same retail product offered to AEP Texas central division customers under the good cause exception referenced in finding of fact 53 must modify the electricity-fact label to identify the AEP Texas rate riders referenced in ordering paragraph 9 that do no [sic*] apply to the McAllen and Mission service area formerly served by Oncor."

* A written order has not been issued, the language above is from an adopted Commissioner memo. It is presumed such language will be fixed in the written order under the customary delegation for capitalization, spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, correction of numbering, and readability.
