County Of San Diego Moves Forward With Process To Create Municipal Aggregation

September 11,2019

Supervisors of the County of San Diego gave approval, in a 3-2 vote, for the county staff to proceed with negotiations on a Joint Powers Authority with several cities that may ultimately result in an opt-out community choice aggregation, Fox 5 San Diego reports

The County of San Diego will negotiate with the cities of Carlsbad, Del Mar and Solana Beach on a Joint Powers Authority

Any resulting CCA would need to return to County Supervisors for approval

Supervisor Kristin Gaspar was among those opposing the resolution allowing for negotiations, stating, according to Fox 5, "I don’t think that we need to add an energy business to our plate."
