Connecticut Retail Energy Bill Addressing New Marketing Requirements "Passed Temporarily"

June 06,2019

The Connecticut House has "passed temporarily" a version of Connecticut HB 7155

This means that consideration of the bill has been suspended for a short time, typically to await an amendment or the answer to a question.

The previously reported amendment to the bill to provide for a supplier consolidated billing program limited to community distributed generation has now been called (see details on the amendment here)

The amendment does not alter other sections of the bill, such as new requirements for telesales and door to door marketing (including recording the entire sales pitch) and a requirement to seek PURA approval for customer assignments (see details here)
