Private Equity Outfit To Buy Storage Asset From NextEra Energy

January 23,2019

Meyersdale Storage, LLC applied at FERC for approval of a transfer of 100% of the membership interests in Meyersdale Storage from Energy Storage Projects (Utility), LLC (ESP, or Seller), a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, (NextEra Resources) to GlidePath Storage Operations, LLC (Glidepath Storage, or Buyer), a wholly owned direct subsidiary of Glidepath Power Operations, LLC (Glidepath Operations)

Pursuant to the transaction, Glidepath Storage will acquire from ESP all outstanding membership interests in and associated jurisdictional facilities of Meyersdale Storage (the Transaction).

Meyersdale Storage owns and operates an 18 MW energy storage system located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania

In addition to Meyersdale Storage, Buyer is purchasing two additional project companies, Waymart Storage, LLC (Waymart Storage) and Backbone Mountain Storage, LLC (Backbone Storage) from the Seller, neither of which currently own, control or operate any FERC-jurisdictional facilities. Though these companies do not currently own jurisdictional facilities, they are pursuing projects currently in the development stage

GlidePath Operations is a wholly owned subsidiary of GlidePath Power Solutions LLC (GlidePath Power). GlidePath Power is an indirect subsidiary of Quinbrook Low Carbon Power LP, Quinbrook Low Carbon Power Parallel Fund (US) LP, and US Wind Co-Investment Partners LP (together, the Fund).
