Genie Energy Ltd. reported in an 8-K that on September 1, 2018, Geoffrey Rochwarger, the Executive Vice Chairman of Genie Energy Ltd., resigned his position as Vice Chairman as well as officer positions he held at various subsidiaries of Genie Energy Ltd..

As previously reported, Genie Energy is nearing a completion to a retail energy business model and selling a significant stake in its oil exploration business as it focuses on retail energy

Geoffrey Rochwarger had served as Vice Chairman of Genie since August 2011, Chief Executive Officer of Genie Oil E&P since May 2015 and as Chief Executive Officer of Genie Israel Holdings Ltd. since 2013.

From 2007 to 2015, Rochwarger served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IDT Energy.
