On August 12, 2018, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric (CNP) will implement a change to the “Rate Class/Code” field on the usage history spreadsheet files sent in response to usage requests. The change will impact usage history spreadsheets sent in response to requests from the paper LOA process and the online CRIP-LOA system, as well as the Demand and Energy Information System (DEIS) used by customers.

Because of the change, certain 3-digit numeric Rate Class Codes for IDR and Streetlight ESI-IDs will be replaced by a 3-letter alpha Rate Class Code, as shown in the table below. The New Rate Class Codes will populate in the “Rate Class/Code” field for report requests dated after August 11, 2018. This change is in preparation for CNP’s conversion to a new Customer Information System, which will take place in late 2019.

Additionally, on August 12, 2018, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric (CNP) will replace the 3-digit numeric and alpha Rate Class descriptors for IDR and Streetlight accounts on several TxSET transactions with a longer narrative rate description that corresponds to the tariff rate for the ESI-ID.

These changes will be reflected in the following Texas SET transactions:

• 810_02 TDSP Invoice

• 814_04 Enrollment Notification Response

• 814_20 ESI ID Maintenance Request

This change will impact approximately 9,465 IDR and Streetlight ESI IDs.

Note that this change only involves the description of the rate class used on transactions – not the rate itself.

The examples below provide both the current state and future TDSP (CNP) Rate Class:
