NY: (Default Service) Electric Prices Driven Sky High

March 25,2014

The Buffalo News reports on the steep electric rate hikes being experienced by default service customers at National Grid and NYSEG.

The Buffalo News notes that the increase is "particularly jarring" for NiMo customers for whom the PSC temporarily capped default service rates in February.

"But now that the freeze has ended, National Grid consumers are getting whacked with the full brunt of the increase in retail electricity prices since January. NYSEG customers didn't have a temporary freeze, but the increase for them has been similarly steep," The Buffalo News reports.
