$50 Million Class Action Suit Filed Against Retail Supplier
November 14,2014
A $50 million class action lawsuit has been filed against Starion Energy.
Although raising largely similar claims, the suit is distinguished from a spate of recent class action suits filed against retail suppliers concerning rates and marketing claims in that the new suit against Starion alleges that the company violated the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
Similar to other recent suits, the allegations focus on Starion's alleged pricing, including alleged large increases in price after an initial period of service, and the alleged marketing of such pricing
The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
