SAN JOSE, Calif. and HOUSTON, Nov. 6, 2014 -- Spark Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPKE), a retail energy provider, and SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR) today announced an agreement to offer SunPower solar technology to Spark Energy's new and existing customers in California and New York. After an initial pilot in those regions, the two companies may expand the offering to other areas of the U.S. as well.

SunPower solar panels are the most efficient on the market today, generating up to 41 percent more power than conventional solar panels," said Howard Wenger, SunPower president, business units. "Through the first half of this year, 60 percent of our energy sales have been green energy products, and we're excited that our new relationship with SunPower provides another renewable energy option to our customers."

This co-marketing arrangement continues a focus on green and renewable energy solutions for Spark Energy. Within the past year, the Houston-based retail energy provider has also introduced a carbon-neutral natural gas product and expanded its 100 percent renewable electricity offerings.

SunPower is a leading global manufacturer of residential solar power systems. Through the company's U.S. network of approximately 400 dealers, it offers a range of solar power system financing options, including purchase, lease or loans, enabling customers to make the choice that best fits their budget.
